The band was formed in 1996 by Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, and Mickey Madden.
In 1999, the group released its debut album Songs About Jane, which reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart. Their second studio album, Overexposed (2000), sold more than five million copies worldwide, making it the fastest selling album by a male artist at the time. The group’s third album, This Love (2001) became their first platinum record. After releasing three albums together, the band went on hiatus in 2003.
In 2002 they signed with J Records and their first single “This Love” became a hit.
Since then, the band has released four more albums, including V (2005), It Won’t Be Soon Before Long (2007), Hands All Over (2009), and Midnight Memories (2013). The latter was certified double platinum in the United States.
In 2005 they released their third album “One More Night” which included the singles “Makes Me Wonder” and “If I Never See You Again”.
Their latest album, titled Jordi, was released on 2021.
Their second album “Songs About Jane” was released in 2003.
In 2004, they released their third studio album “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long”. It became their first number 1 album in the United States.
